Dietary

Our Dietary department provides attractive, nutritional meals and snacks for our residents and guests. Some residents prefer to eat meals in their room or the day room.  Residents needing assistance at meal times are assisted by trained nursing assistants.  Our residents can also choose to eat in our main dining room with the opportunity to share meals and companionship.  Our large, elegantly decorated dining room continues to offer personal wait staff and promotes personal choices. Our menus are purchased from Gordon Food Services and are tested by a team of registered dietitians to ensure they are nutritious, well-balanced meal plans.  Menus also address special dietary needs as ordered by a physician.  A variety of special therapeutic diets, including, but not limited to, no added salt, renal, cardiac, carb controlled and mechanical altered consistencies are prepared and served by our dietary staff. As part of the “culture change” movement in long term care, resident likes and dislikes are always considered as well as special menu choices.  The resident’s individualized care plan is developed with these specific preferences in mind to promote and maintain optimal nutrition. A Registered Dietitian reviews all resident records on admission, annually, and with any change in condition to ensure that nutritional needs are being met. All Nursing units are stocked daily with snacks and drinks.  Freshly baked cookies are available in our main dining room for a special treat and afternoon coffee socials.
